TLGenUSB Setup Guide
Turn on Sentry Mode
Remove all TeslaCam USB drives
Plug TLGenUSB into you TeslaCam USB port (Newer Tesla this will be in your glove box, older models, your TeslaCam USB port is in the cubby under the Main screen)
Wait 4 minutes for TLGenUSB to boot
Download the latest version of TLGen app at TLGenApp.com/DL
Make sure to turn your phones hotspot on and for iPhone users it is critical to turn Maximum Compatibility Mode on or TLGenUSB won’t be able to connect to your hotspot
Open TLGen app on your phone
On the shows list page (TLGen welcome screen) open the USB plug icon
You’ll be prompted to allow TLGen app to use bluetooth, tap allow to proceed with connecting to TLGenUSB
This will open TLGenUSB Portal allow it to scan for TLGenUSB
TLGenUSB will appear in nearby devices with a dash followed by 8 characters, tap on it to open pin to connect
Enter your TLGenUSB 5 digit pin, it is found in your teslas list of custom lightshows, tap the i-icon next to PIN for directions on how to find.
After entering your 5 digit PIN tap connect and verify PIN
This will bring you into the main TLGenUSB portal screen where all the action happens and we are almost done
First thing on the Wifi page tap Scan networks
Once that completes you’ll see a list of nearby Wifi, if you see your hotspot you can add that now by tapping on it and entering your password, if you’d like some assistance locating you phones hotspot you can scroll down to and tap Add Personal Hotspot profile where there guides and a clever Find my hotspot button to auto fill the name of your hotspot.
Once your TLGenUSB is connected to your Hotspot or your phone and TLGenUSB are on the same network you’ll be able to fully use all the great features of TLGenUSB portal!
